With a vision to provide world class business process and information technology outsourcing services to the British Columbia public sector, the company was created to provide unionized outsourcing services to the BC Ministry of Small Business and Revenue (now Ministry of Finance). HP Advanced Solutions Inc., has overseen a dramatic modernization process that has introduced significant technology and process transformations to the BC public sector. While transferring project risks and investment to the private sector, this arrangement has also increased revenue for the Province of BC and improved customer service.
In 2009, as a result of its success, HP Advanced Solutions Inc. signed a new contract with the Province for hosting and data centre services. The 12 year contract will result in the consolidation from eight data centres into two, including a new state-of-the-art facility currently being constructed in Kamloops, BC. With assistance from its partners, this new innovative initiative will be jointly marketed to over 100 provincial public sector organizations in health, education and utilities to further increase access to secure, high quality data services in the Province of BC.
HP Advanced Solutions Inc. continues to make investments in new technologies that allow them to deliver enhanced functionality and improved business processes. An eco-friendly company, HP Advanced Solutions Inc. has invested in paperless technologies as well as Green IT initiatives including server virtualization and the replacement of servers with energy efficient technologies. HP Advanced Solutions Inc. has grown from 177 former government employees in 2004 to more than 370 staff, the majority of which reside at the Vancouver Island Technology Park (VITP) in Victoria, BC
