2. Sasha Angus, EDO, Greater Victoria Development Agency

Sasha Angus joined the Greater Victoria Development Agency in 2007 as its Economic Development Officer, with a diverse background in the private, public and non-profit sectors. As the former Chief of Staff to the Minister of Economic Development for Alberta, he played an integral role in addressing many of the same issues that face the region, including; business attraction and retention, tourism development, knowledge based industries and valued added manufacturing.

Sasha recently partnered with the City of Victoria to lead a business development mission to four jurisdictions in China. The mission showcased Greater Victoria as one of the world’s most livable cities and the strengths and opportunities in our local economy. It promoted Greater Victoria’s tourism, higher education and technology sectors, leveraging the region’s long-standing relationship with Suzhou while establishing new relationships in both the private and public sectors.

Significant new opportunities for business development and Chinese industry partnerships were identified for the region’s knowledge-based industries. Come and hear how your business can take advantage of these new market opportunities.
