Pedestrian and Cycling Master Plan - Lunch Presentation

The CRD has finally released its Pedestrian and Cycling Master Plan. Many of you participated in one or more of their numerous advocates’ sessions held throughout the region in the past year and a half, including a consultation at UVic during BTWW in 2010. This report is a result of those consultations, plus recommendations from planners and engineers within the CRD and member municipalities. It’s a blueprint for improving pedestrian and cycling infrastructure that envisions over 900 KMs of connected bikeways that will allow people to choose walking and cycling as attractive alternatives to the single occupancy vehicle. Find out more at the CRD’s website.

The regional planner in charge of the project, Sue Hallat, is coming to campus to give the campus community an overview of the plan, how UVic fits in, and to describe the next steps towards implementation. They’d love it if you could join them! See details below.
