Why should I join VIATeC?

VIATeC is a membership based organization and develops our goals and programs around our members’ needs. The number one reason our members give us for joining is to network and build connections. VIATeC excels and providing opportunities to do so. The public has access to some of our programs, but some features are only offered to members. Included are the peer round tables, mentorship programs and advisory councils. Members
receive discounts on our events and programs, as well as on special offers. These benefits may be enjoyed by all your staff and are listed here.

Why doesn’t my company have a full listing on the Company Profile section?

Non-members will have a limited listing only, with current members entitled to a robust profile. Please complete the necessary steps to build your profile. Contact VIATeC if you need assistance.

I am a new technology company, how can you help me?

VIATeC has several programs specifically designed to assist young companies. Your membership rate is kept low, and you have access to incredible resources through the C-harmony Mentor Network, the Grow Op and the Peer Round Tables. In addition, we will help with introductions and provide a variety of seminars.

Do members receive any discounts or special offers?

VIATeC members receive discounts to our events, on our promotional opportunities and on member to member offers. Click here for more information.

I registered on the website, why are some features still not available to me?

Registration on our website is open to anyone, but some of our features are benefits of membership. Click here if you would like more information on becoming a VIATeC member.

Do you have any payment plans available?

VIATeC offers a monthly payment plan using VISA or MasterCard. There is a one time $25 set up fee, and we will then spread your payments over the next 12 months. Please request the cheque payment option and write a note when signing up for membership or contact Georgia Cowell at info@viatec.ca or 250-483-3214 for assistance.

I would like to promote my company to members. How can I get your member list?

VIATeC does not publish its member list, but does provide opportunities for you to promote your business to the tech community. Contact Michelle Gaetz at mgaetz@viatec.ca or 250-483-3225 for more information.

What kind of membership is right for me?

VIATeC offers memberships in two broad categories: Technology and Associate. If you are a Vancouver Island company developing a technology product or service, you can join under the Technology category. Otherwise, you may join as an Associate. Within the Technology category, you may join as a Start Up (up to 3 employees) Technology Organization, Technology Up Island Organization or Technology Sustaining Patron. Within the Associate category, you may join as an Individual (if you have no company affiliation), an Associate Organization, or an Associate Sustaining Patron.

Why is there a charge for membership?

VIATeC’s funding comes from our membership dues as well as sponsorship of our events. These revenues allow us to provide programming for all members of the tech community. We have structured our rates to keep costs low for start-up technology companies, and higher for more established organizations who are in a position to give back to the community.

How to edit your Business profile and add staff?

How to edit your Company Business profile:

Login - only CEO or Liaison have full privileges to perform this action.

Using the orange navigation bar at the top of the webpage go to "Company Actions".  Select "Edit My Company". Make the changes desired and click save at the end when complete.

* Please note that only VIATeC staff can delete an existing employee.

How to add staff to your Business profile:

Login - only CEO or Liaison have full privileges to perform this action.

Using the orange navigation bar at the top of the webpage go to "Company Actions". Select "Add Staff", complete the information required, choosing the permissions you would like to give to the new staff member. New staff members will receive a notice from the website asking them to setup a password.
