April 29, 2010

Have you registerd for the Challenge yet?  The trash talk has really started to heat up and challenges are flying fast and furious!  Will your tech company reign supreme this year during Bike to Work Week, May 31 – June 6 in Victoria?

VIATeC has two categories you can challenge each other in:

• Most KM per company
• Most KM per employee

Winners will share the VIATeC ‘Half Full’ Cup, which is awarded to Victoria Technology companies who win a challenge among their fellow technology companies in support of a good cause. Past recipients have been Carmanah for the ‘Most KMs per Employee’ and NRC-IRAP for ‘Most KMs per Company’.

To join ‘VIATeC's Bike to Work Week Challenge’ email Chris Clarke .

Our results last year? Collectively, 326 employees of 25 companies in Victoria's Tech Sector rode 20,479 km's between May 11-15 2009, reducing carbon emissions (CO2) by a total of 3.87 tonnes; this reduction in greenhouse gases is the equivalent of planting 542 trees.

Ready to beat that this year?  Of course you are!
