I-ADVANCE© Project Update

ICTC and its partners are developing six designations for the ICT Professional Certification Program, I-ADVANCE©. The goal of the program is to provide ICT professionals a career path. It provides the option to obtain a designation in their current field of specialization or any field they would like to transition to. The program will on the other hand, provide employers a tool for workforce development activities; from hiring to succession planning.

Some facts:
• The ICT Competency Profiles Framework builds the foundation of the program and the competencies it will validate.
• A number of occupations that share certain common technical business/interpersonal competencies form a designation.
• Examples of competencies are ICT Project Management, Application Development / Support and Maintenance, Business Analysis, Analytical Thinking, Decision Making, Leadership, Relationship Building, Creativity and Innovation, Business Perspective.
• I-ADVANCE© Designations being developed are Software, Hardware, Infrastructure, Quality Control, Technical Leadership and Business Management.

Professionals / Subject Matter Experts Needed
A meticulous process of test and designation development will be followed. Therefore, we are currently seeking professionals’ and organization’s feedback on key competencies required to work in their particular field, or domain. This is the first step in the test development phase, called practice analysis. Some details on subsequent test development activities are included below.

ICT Professionals working in any of the above mentioned fields are needed to participate in the test development activities. It is possible to participate in one or multiple sessions.
