Island Labs Pulls Testing Business from Across Canada

Island Labs, a Vancouver Island based EMC testing facility is going from strength to strength as it expands its' customer base nationwide.

Island Labs was originally conceived to provide a convenient FCC, Industry Canada and CE Mark testing service for Vancouver Island based customers. However, since officially opening in February 2011, as well as Island based customers, the company has attracted clients from Vancouver, Calgary, Quebec and as far afield as Nova Scotia.

"This wasn't in the business plan, but was certainly a welcome surprise that customers would come from across Canada to use our services." said Andy Eadie, founder of Island Labs. When probed further on customer decision making processes Eadie commented, "I think it's our unique blend of hardware design and testing expertise that is attracting engineers and managers to our service. This allows us to offer a proprietary PCB design review that has a 100% success rate in getting customers through emissions testing on the first pass. We literally save our customers thousands of dollars in testing and re-design costs."

Island Labs has completed FCC and CE Mark testing on a diverse range of products, from consumer audio to medical, wireless, oil and gas controllers and even equipment for power stations.

Island Labs has recently completed a complex FCC and Industry Canada wireless certification on a powerful 3 Watt base station transmitter for a large Victoria based wireless product design company.

Further expansion is expected as the company recently signed its first partnership with a US based company.
