NetroMedia, a leading streaming media company, announced at IBC 2011 today that, in order to provide enhanced support to its expanding Middle East client base, it will open a new client and technical service centre in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on September 19, 2011.

NetroMedia’s Middle Eastern clients include one of the two most popular private Kuwaiti TV stations, Dar Al Watan, as well as Saudi company, IT City, which recently sponsored the global live streaming of Ramadan prayers to mobile. These broadcasters, as well as other clients from the region, benefit from the streaming media company’s flawless global delivery.

“It is wonderful to be working out of the region, as we have many longstanding client relationships there,” NetroMedia’s manager to the Middle East, Taher Altayeb, who will lead the new office, stated. “I’m also particularly excited to show new customers how NetroMedia can help them stream to all devices at once.”

NetroMedia’s mobile streaming solutions are particularly appealing to Middle Eastern organizations due to the disparity between mobile and internet adoption rates in the region. In Egypt, which has one of the region’s most developed telecommunications sectors, mobile adoption is approximately 68%, while the country’s internet adoption is a mere 13%, according to a 2010 report by the Canadian Trade Commission.

“We have always had a division of our client services team dedicated to serving the Middle East,” said Jason Potter, client services manager. “We deliver one-on-one customer service to each and every client, and being in the region is going to make that even better.”

NetroMedia’s expansion to the Middle East follows the move of its Victoria, BC head office to a larger space in May 2011, and the opening of its new European office based in London, UK, in January 2011. NetroMedia is demonstrating its mobile streaming solution at IBC 2011 in Hall 6, Stand 6.B22 until September 13, 2011.

NetroMedia’s new office is on University Street in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The main telephone number is +966 1 4761061.
