AML OCEANOGRAPHIC Sensor Instruments Sold to Chilean Universities for Ocean Research
AML Oceanographic of Sidney, B.C. is pleased to announce their first sale of X-Series Sensor Xchangeable Instruments in Chile through their business partner, Mariscope Ingenieria. This family of oceanographic instrumentation includes field-swappable sensor heads, allowing the user to configure an instrument’s sensor load, in the field and on demand.
With X-Series, it is possible to use one single instrument for both shallow and deep applications, for the collection of sound velocity or salinity data, and for either coastal or oceanographic use. 'In this way, we can increase the number of applications per instrument, and thus get more operational use from our investment,” said Mariscope’s spokesperson.
Mariscope stated: “This also means that when the sensor requires calibration, the user has the option to continue using their instrument. This results in a significant decrease in operating costs.”
Mariscope’s first X-Series customer is the Austral University of Chile, in collaboration with the University of Concepcion, Chile.
Mariscope Ingenieria, of Puerto Montt, Chile, is a marine engineering and technology development company that offers services in the areas of oceanography, underwater robotics and professional diving.
