Dr. Brad Nelson

Dr. Nelson received training at the University of California at Berkeley (Ph.D.) and Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center (postdoc), and in 2003 became founding Director of the Deeley Research Centre. His laboratory is interested in the development of immune-based therapies for cancer. Areas of focus include: defining the effects of standard treatments on the immune response to cancer; understanding how cytokine signals modulate the anti-tumour activity of tumour-infiltrating T cells; and using genomic approaches to identify novel tumour mutations that can serve as target antigens for immunotherapy.
