For the 17th year, VIATEC is challenging companies in Victoria to compete in an effort to raise as much food and cash donations for the Mustard Seed Food Bank as possible!
There are 50,000 “hidden hungry” or food insecure individuals in Greater Victoria and we need your help to continue to provide them the most important pillar… food. Food not only nourishes the body, but it provides a sense of stability, of sharing with community or family, and a moment of rest, and warmth, amidst the chaos of life. It just so happens, that helping to donate to these programs also brings your team together in a way that can only be described as inspiring.

The VIATEC Food Bank Challenge runs Nov 4th to Dec 2nd.
We welcome ALL companies located in the Greater Victoria area to participate; non-tech companies too!

VIATEC will recognize two categories: the Greatest Overall Contributor and the Greatest Per Employee Contributor (top 3 in each). The Winners will be revealed at the Flamingle all the way event on December 5th!
Since its inception, $2,253,420.80 value of food and cash has been donated from participating Greater Victoria companies! Last year $45,224.40 in cash and 3,246 pounds of food was donated to the Mustard Seed Food Bank, which fed 1,052 families (totaling 4,207 individuals fed for an entire month!). This year we’re striving for more! Let’s show all of Victoria how our community gives back! Keep in mind that food donations are great, but cash goes a longer way!
PARTICIPATE BY ONE OF THE FOLLOWING:
- Accepting the Challenge! Your company will have 4 weeks to raise as much cash and/or non-perishable items as you can.
- Making a personal donation right here in support of one of the competitors (make sure you name them)
- Going out to a few of the competitor's fundraising events!
