This course provides participants with a deeper understanding of project management as well as skills to manage the people side of projects while working in matrix environments. This leaves project managers or those leading such teams without many of the traditional managerial levers to get work done through other people. Therefore, different skills are required such as influence, persuasion and negotiations.

At the end of the course, participants will be able to:

- Recognize the need to use alternative methods to motivate teams
- Understand and know how to use appropriate power bases
- Understand and be able to apply influence and persuasion techniques within a project setting
- Understand a simplistic negotiation model
- Understand the importance of presentation skills in persuading decision makers mitigation strategies
- Understand and use a simplistic presentation model
