Reporting directly to the CFO, the Controller is a key contributor to the financial success of one of the fastest growing video distribution companies in Canada. You are an energetic and flexible self-starter as well as a team player. You take tremendous pride in your attention to detail and financial accuracy. You have a demonstrated ability to prioritize and coordinate a diverse set of activities to consistently meet targets in an environment that includes changing priorities, time demands, and frequent interruptions.

    Financial reporting

    • Manage month-end and year-end close process
    • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements
    • Take lead in preparation of annual budget and budget-to-actual analysis
    • Prepare and review ad hoc financial reports
    • Provide technical support and advice to the management team
    • Direct annual audit

    Financial analysis and process improvement

    • Analyze financial information and provide insight to the management team
    • Cross-departmental collaboration with regards to external reports and internal performance metrics.
    • Monitor payments and prepare cash forecasts
    • Suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending
    • Review accounting systems and procedures and make recommendations for continuous improvement
    • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain effective internal controls


    • Assist with preparation and/or coordination of income and sales tax returns
    • Oversight of payroll tax matters, including remittances
    • Engage with tax authorities and service providers


    • Review and process payroll
    • Provide input into department’s goal setting process
    • Manage vendor/customer relationships in a professional manner
    • All other duties as assigned

    • Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance or other relevant field
    • CPA designation preferred
    • 3-10 years’ experience as a financial leader in an operating company
